Innovative SRT
Year 1 (2025-26)
by Jason Mark Stych
This idea and design is for snow removal by melting into water for extraction into public road drains.
About This Idea
I am building a snow removal system initially for parking lots of businesses, schools and street curbs until further design improvements and regulations can be met for home usable smaller models. This solves the intense congestion to parking from the pile-ups of snow mountains that have to currently be removed by front loaders and dump trucks.
Where Did This Idea Spark at WMU?
It sparked through the winter months when the snow piles up and takes up parking spaces everywhere and most notably in already few parking areas.
Impact in Kalamazoo
Kalamazoo is a very busy city that encompasses all metrics of business culture. Parking spaces during the winter months are consumed by piles of snow, not to mention the eyesore it creates.
How Investment Helps
Kalamazoo can be known as the birth place for innovation and invention. This design, when fully implemented, will be just one of many new and innovative ideas to be sparked in this great city.
What I'll Do With the Money
1. Used 3 ton 4x4 flatbed truck for mobility- $30,000.00

About the Founder
I have worked in manufacturing environments for over 30 years as a machine shop business owner, Journeyman Tool Maker and maintenance technician to name a few. I have always made improvements to processes and systems wherever I was working. I was able to learn many skills at the various companies I worked for with new innovative ideas to streamline their manufacturing work flow. Currently, I am working as a Mechatronics Instructor under an ACA while completing my bachelor's degree at Western.
