UNSTUCK: A 14-Day Method to Turn Stalled Ideas Into Momentum
Year 1 (2025-26)
by Natasha W. Miller
UNSTUCK is a structured 14-day sprint that helps founders, professionals, and teams break inertia and turn stalled ideas into forward momentum.
About This Idea
UNSTUCK is a structured, science-informed 14-day sprint designed to help individuals and teams move forward when they feel stalled.
Many capable people don’t fail because they lack ideas—they stall between intention and execution. They overthink decisions, revisit the same conversations, and delay action. Momentum fades, even when the potential is there.
Most existing solutions are either:
- Too abstract (inspiration or coaching without structure)
- Too heavy (accelerators or incubators requiring major commitment)
- Or too generic (courses and templates that don't create action)
UNSTUCK fills the gap.
It provides a repeatable, step-by-step sprint that:
1. Clarifies what “stuck” actually is
2. Identifies the smallest viable forward move
3. Creates structured accountability over 14 days
4. Produces measurable progress
Grounded in behavioral science and performance systems, the method is practical, lightweight, and designed for real-world implementation—not theory.
In Kalamazoo, UNSTUCK will serve small business owners, student entrepreneurs, professionals, and community teams who need structured forward motion. The goal is simple: restore momentum quickly and reliably, and build a repeatable model that can scale beyond the initial pilots.
This isn’t about promising success.
It’s about helping capable people move.
Where Did This Idea Spark at WMU?
Before starting my PhD at Western Michigan University, I kept noticing the same pattern in small business owners, colleagues, friends, and students: capable people with good ideas would stall. Not because they weren’t smart or hardworking—but because they weren’t sure what the next step should be.
When I began studying Organizational Behavior Management at WMU, I started learning why that happens. I saw how small gaps in clarity, structure, and accountability can quietly slow people down.
That’s when it clicked. The problem wasn’t talent—it was missing structure.
UNSTUCK grew from that realization. It’s my effort to turn what I was observing into a simple, repeatable method that helps people move forward.
Impact in Kalamazoo
If UNSTUCK works in Kalamazoo:
Local founders move from idea to launch faster.
Small businesses regain momentum during slow seasons.
Student entrepreneurs convert concepts into real pilots.
Community organizations break decision gridlock.
Kalamazoo already has talent and creativity.
What’s often missing is structured forward movement.
By piloting UNSTUCK locally, we can:
Run initial 14-day sprints with Kalamazoo founders
Build case studies rooted in the community
Strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem
Help early-stage ideas take root instead of fade out
Momentum compounds locally.
How Investment Helps
Funding allows UNSTUCK to move from concept to structured pilot.
Specifically, the investment enables:
Development of Version 1 of the 14-Day UNSTUCK Sprint
Running 2–3 pilot cohorts with Kalamazoo founders/teams
Measuring outcomes (progress milestones, launches, decisions made)
Refining the framework into a repeatable local program
Without funding, this remains informal and limited in scale.
With funding, we can:
Establish proof of concept in Kalamazoo
Document measurable outcomes
Build a foundation for long-term sustainability
The first milestone:
Launch and complete the first Kalamazoo-based UNSTUCK cohort within 90-180 days.
What I'll Do With the Money
Funding at either level accelerates UNSTUCK, with scale proportional to investment.
With $25K = pilot + validation
With $75K = scalable platform + certification + regional expansion
Kalamazoo Pilot Cohorts – $11,000
Run 4 structured 14-day UNSTUCK sprints to validate demand, refine delivery, and transition to paid cohorts.
Curriculum & System Finalization – $6,000
Build Version 1 of the UNSTUCK facilitator guide, participant workbook, and structured execution framework.
Measurement & Proof of Outcomes – $5,000
Track decisions made, projects launched, and behavioral momentum to produce documented case studies.
Lean Infrastructure & Business Setup – $3,000
Develop essential digital systems, legal structure, and payment infrastructure to support paid delivery.
Total: $25,000
About the Founder
I’m a PhD student in Organizational Behavior Management at Western Michigan University and an operations leader who helps people and teams execute under pressure. I’ve repeatedly seen capable individuals stall—not from lack of ability, but from lack of clear forward motion. UNSTUCK formalizes the work I’ve been doing informally into a structured, repeatable sprint that helps people move.
